HEAT TREATMENT SPECIFICATION & MECHANICAL PROPERTIES:
UNDER ANNEALED CONDITION
Hardness :HB205-255
Annealing temperature:860-880℃,keep this temperature by 2-4 hours,then cooling to 600℃ in the speed of 20-30℃/h
if after cold drawn precess,suggest add stress relieving annealing process
Under the temperature of 600-700℃ ,keep this temperature by 2 houres.
Quenching & Tempering (salt bath)
Quenching:
Pre-heating in two steps:
Heating temperature under:400-500℃ and 850-900℃
Austenitizing temperature:1185-1225℃
Heating coefficient 10-15sec/mm,quenching under 580-620℃,then cooling to room temperature.
Quenching temperature difference in 5-10℃ between M2, M2A;M2A's quenching temperature is higher than M2
Tempering:
Tempering temperature under:540-560℃ ,tempering 3 times,each time 1 hour,then cooling to room temperature.

DIMENSION : mm
Cold drawn bar :ø2.2-14.2mm
Hot rolled bar :ø 8.0-80.0mm
Forged bar :ø81.0-250.0mm
Coil :ø6.5-16.0mm
APPLIED RANGE:
Used for made all kinds of high precision complex cutters and processing hard such as milling cutter,hobbing cutter,broach ,screw tap
special prupose drills etc. Especially apply to carve forging die tools ,milling cutter and carving machine tools .
Characters : the steel grade is tungsten -molybdenum popular type high speed tool steel representative grade. Better thermoplasticity ,
have higher hardness ,red hadness and high temperature hardness.
